Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his first trophy for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the American major.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and finally separating with former mentor Cervara.
Currently training with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hard surface from that period of the previous year.
Success also means he has secured 21 championships at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters together, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the first title I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his past six finals, including in Halle earlier this year.
His retrieving strategy and frequent emotional displays on court had led some to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was finished.
But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and play aggressively, reinforced by an better serving game.
The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional title, took control to push for a decider.
Moutet saved four early opportunities in a close third set before the champion won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a shot at the net, with his opponent failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
